Let's talk about Bras.

Based on what we hear at Hanes, most women are not neutral when it comes to their bras. Many have a love/hate relationship with this essential undergarment. It’s totally understandable. Bras are complicated. And important. Some women tell us they are on a lifelong quest for the perfect bra. With all the different sizes, shapes, lifestyles, activities, wardrobes, tastes, comfort preferences, and support levels that today’s modern women need, bras for women have a lot of boxes to check. That’s why we offer so many types of women’s bras and so many outstanding choices for each type. Your search for that perfect bra stops here

What are the different kinds of bras?

There are two main categories of womens bras: wireless or wirefree bras and underwire bras. Within those categories, there are many styles, such as sports bras for running, training, tennis, or other high-impact activities, T-shirt bras for smoothness under knits and clingy clothes, and wireless bralettes, softer, lighter, unstructured bras for everyday wear, low-impact workouts such as yoga, lounging or even sleeping. You’ll also find other options for coverage, support, shape, fabric, and color, such as convertible straps for fashion flexibility and moisture-wicking fabric for cool comfort. When it comes to bra shopping today, how great is it that you’ve got so many choices!

To bra or not to bra?

Many women wonder whether they need to wear a bra all the time or even any of the time. This was a frequent search topic during the peak of the pandemic when so many of us were working from home and wearing more casual clothes. Some women jettisoned their bras altogether but wondered whether going braless would lead to sagging, discomfort, or other issues. The general thinking from professionals is that going braless has no health risks. But there might be an impact on comfort. Women with fuller breasts may feel discomfort with the weight of their braless breasts in front or back pain from lack of support. And there is general agreement that you should wear a bra when exercising. For those casual, at-home moments when you just don’t feel like wearing a bra, one of our stretchy, comfy bralettes might be a good option.

How can I get a bra with the right fit?

Here’s some of what women say about their bras: Love it. Hate it. Too tight. Too loose. Too hot. Pinches. Pokes. Slips. Digs into my shoulders. And on and on. With all the options Hanes bras offer in design and advanced fabrics, you simply don’t have to put up with an uncomfortable bra. Even if you feel that an underwire is right for you, today’s underwires can deliver dreamy, no-poke comfort. And with advanced fabrics and modern engineering, many women who previously would only wear an underwire may find that a good-fitting wireless style will provide the support they need. There’s no longer any reason to compromise on comfort, support, or style when choosing your bra.
